It was the first day of Pre-K for Em. Yes, I actually finished Em's dress sans the pockets. But she did take the 50 cent find from Goodwill in her backpack... Mia the snowdog. She slept in, I made blueberry muffins for breakfast and then we headed out. She did very well, she only became a little bit clingy. There were boy twins in the room that just bawled and bawled. One thing that did bother me, is the same creepy guy was outside of his apartment watching the children go into school. Not sure if I mentioned this the other night, but some man living at 219 E 7th street was sitting outside when we walked back to our car from open house. When we walked by, he looked straight at Em and said, "boy you got a real pretty little one there". Granted, no crime in that, but when you are a middle-aged man, you should be really careful about that sort of thing. I had my camera today (obvisously) so I unobviously took a picture of him outside of his place. More than likely nothing since the police patrol the area outside of those schools.
Standing outside of the school, I just had to take more pictures, and I am positive Em really appreciated this since the sun was directly at the position where she was rendered completely incapacited. I was glad to find another little girl from her daycare will be in her class. This way they can go to class together and leave together on the daycare van. I feel awful for Em since she wants to really stay home with mommy. She wants me to take her and pick her up - and you know if I could figure out a way to pull it off, I would do it in a heartbeat!
After school, we went to the flea market (because on your child's first day of school for the next 12 years they should go to the flea market to celebrate...). I have not taken a picture of the Pound Puppy newborns (all 6 of them) in their carrying case. They sure are cute. Let me see, we also bought a Winne the Pooh Halloween Movie, a bag of old sewing thread wooden spools, and a Pumpkin Cookbook. Once again, can we see the Fall theme coming up? I am not sure Em inherited my need to create, but I sure as heck know she has inherited my love for the best time of the
year, Fall. I love this cookbook. There are recipes I would have never thought about in The Pumpkin Cookbook .
Tonight I spent cutting out the all the quilt squares for the back of Em's quilt. They are all cut out, as well as Amy Butler's Cozy Kitten Pillow to match her quilt. I am going to finish cutting out all of the patterns tomorrow... shirts, pants, dresses and skirts... I will be a busy little girl. Well, it will be so flaming hot outside, we are not going to want to be outside anyway!
