oh crap... it's more snow. You know I really do believe there is global warming and a speeding up of the earth's cycles, thus climate changes. But, this has been the coldest winter we have had in around 5 years. The kids have been out of school for a total of 7 days. The kids are going to have to go to school until Memorial Day, maybe after. Now, thank goodness school has not been called off for tomorrow. They are predicting some pretty chilly temperatures around here too.
I went to Barnes and Noble at lunch and finally found what I have been searching for (along with witnessing 9 car wrecks).... The BH&G Creative Homes and Romantic Homes with Miss Alicia in them. How wonderful.. made my afternoon. Especially because she had the most wonderful post today. It was about summer and conjured such wonderful thoughts. Nice on a cold snowy day. Funny how you can long for it to cool off once it gets to be September, but give the girl weeks where there is snow on the ground and bam... she's ready for Spring and Summer. I have great memories of playing until dark, gathering fire flies with my dad, going to the public swimming pool. I wonder, since times have changed so much, if children now get the same feeling. Different, but the same feeling. I wonder if as adults we see things change and do not think that kids could still have the same feelings we had as children because of all the dangers in the world? Hopefully they are aware to be safe, but still have such delight in their lives with summer days and nights (oh wait, that's Grease... ).
So, until winter is over.. I like Dreamin....
oh, but my dad cleaned some more out of the attic... gees, they must have not thrown any of my toys away. Let me tell you. We have my squeak toys from when I was a baby. The range in date from 1955-1968. Now, I was born in 1969, so I am not sure why we have the one from 1955.
All my first cousins are boys, not theirs because they were not born that early. Why would my parents have bought the lamb squeak toy? Hmmm.. good question. But they are all in wonderful condition, which is amazing because they have been in attics since I was a baby. Oh well, they are too cute and will make nice additions to the spare bedroom/craft room!
P.S. -- it has now started snowing again. We can expect it for the next couple of days. Oh yippeee she says half heartedly.
Update to yesterday's post... school has been called off for the day. We are expecting more snow today and tomorrow. You know the kids are loving it now.. but they will have to pay for it later. I made it to work just fine. I decided I would leave late since I figured I would be late anyway. A really strange than happened on the way to work. Due to my leaving late and everyone else having the "I better leave early bug " or just playing hooky, there was hardly any traffic. That was one of the easiest drives I have had in a long time. Now time for gallons of hot chocolate and tea!
Those dolls are super super cute!!

I have been dreaming of Summer too! We have so much snow and cold here though that it won't be at least until May before we see the grass again, but that's what I get for living in a cold climate. Time for a vacation I think! ;)
