Day 5 of being at home. Ready to really get out of the house. We really do have a lot of ice around here. Below is a picture from the garage floor into the driveway. Yep, that is the driveway.
We have watched the news this evening and they have said we will have another snowstorm come through this weekend. I can handle the snow. I just cannot handle the ice. You could literally strap on a pair of ice skates and hit our backyard. It has warmed up above freezing today (by 4 degrees) and all that did was warm up the first layer so it could melt some more. I think the banner picture with the gnomes just makes me laugh. Do you remember the plastic that is bumpy with some glittery stuff in it (yeah, real technical)? That is what the backyard looks like in the sunlight.
There is no school tomorrow, and I highly doubt school will go on Friday either. These kids are going to go stir crazy. I have to admit I have seen ET one too many times in the past 5 days. Well, it does not help that Emma has been sick. We had to go to the Emergency Room after she woke up from her nap screaming. We left the hospital at 1 AM this morning, after she was NEVER SEEN - m5 hours after we arrived there at 8pm. They could not tell me when they would get her back to see the Dr.. yes, at 1 am I had to tell the nospital staff we had to leave. That is not fair to make a 5 year old wait until 3 am to see a Dr. So we went home, I gave her Motrin and we went to bed. Called her Dr this morning, got in at 11:30, and low and behold, double ear infection. Which is what I told the ER. I told the ER it was an ear infection and it would take 5 seconds. I really think all municipal hospitals should have a minor emergency Dr on hand. There was a young man there that had fallen on the ice and he was in bad shape. I felt so bad for him. But, we have antibiotics and a follow up appt for Friday. So, all is well, and we will be good.
Just looking forward to another weekend to just hang out and craft.

The ice on our drive way was about 4 inches thick. We finally broke free and got the cars out. I don't think I can take being "trapped" one more weekend in the house. We slid out of the house every morning and back in again at night. I hate that Emma was sick. So far we are doing good. Just going stir crazy.

I hope Emma is feeling better. So sorry you both had to spend the night in the ER, especially without anyone able to look at her. The ER is just terrible that way. Stay safe with the ice. I can't believe that is your driveway! Yikes!
Love your new banner!
