The weekend never seems long enough. Saturday was a crafting and cooking day-- oh yeah, except for the lovely headache I had yesterday. Emma and I ended up taking a nap while watching "Something's Gotta Give." Cute movie... and Keanu Reeves did not look too shabby in it if I say so myself. I did start working oh her dress and a quilt for her.... I am making it out of large sqaures from two different vintage sheets. The bear is my old bear from when I was little. It is an original Knickerbocker Old Fashioned Jointed Teddy Bear.
We also found another Luna moth outside our home. This will be the second one this year. So strange, I have never seen one in my
entire life, but the year of 2006 we have two of them at our home.
The first was in April. WAY too cold for one to survive, so we
kept her in thouse. She laid eggs in a box and we really did our best to raise and hatch the larva. We did not do very well as "Luna Moth Mommies"..... but we did try.
Today we went to see relatives at Lake Eufala. My Aunt has a cabin up there. Her son, Warren and his friend Debbie were coming through on their way back home to Texas. We do not get to see Warren enough. He has always been my favorite cousin, well, outside of his son Tommy. We went up to the cabin, had Taco salad, ate some fruit, visited, and then Emma and I went swimming in the lake while Warren tried to fish. He did not catch
many fish, but Emma and I sure had fun in the lake (I have the sunburn to prove it..... I have not been out in the sun much this past year). My cousin Warren went to OSU when I was a little girl and my family lived in Stillwater. He would come over occassionally. He had a photography class and took great pics of me. He was also the the one who removed my training wheels from my bike only to have to put them back on! Here is a picture of Emma putting a "locus" shell on Warren's Hat.
All in all we had a wonderful weekend... just not long enough.
